Terms of Service

To use BarMetrics, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's consent to use the Service. Coaches are responsible for ensuring that any athletes they invite to the platform meet these age requirements.

Coaches may require you to sign agreements, such as a release of liability, as a condition of coaching. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must review and sign such agreements on your behalf through the link we email them, and by doing so also confirms their consent to your use of the Service. Coaches may decline to coach anyone under 18.

If you are the parent or legal guardian of a user under 18, you agree to these Terms on their behalf and are responsible for their use of the Service.

You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account, and to update your information as needed to keep it current. BarMetrics reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false or misleading information.

You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose: managing powerlifting coaching relationships, training programming, athlete performance tracking, and nutrition logging. You may not use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Distribute spam, malware, or other harmful content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract source code from the Service
• Use the Service to provide medical advice or act as a substitute for professional medical guidance
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service without our prior written consent

BarMetrics is a training management tool and does not provide medical, nutritional, or health advice. Coaches and athletes should consult qualified healthcare professionals for medical decisions.

BarMetrics offers a free tier and multiple paid subscription plans. The free tier allows coaches to manage a limited number of athletes at no cost. Paid plans unlock additional features and higher athlete limits.

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly. When you subscribe to a paid plan, you authorize BarMetrics to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. All payments are processed securely through Stripe, our third-party payment processor. BarMetrics does not store your full credit card details.

You may upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. When you cancel, you will retain access to your paid features through the end of your current billing period. No prorated refunds are issued for partial billing periods.

BarMetrics reserves the right to modify pricing with 30 days' advance notice. Changes to pricing will apply at the start of your next billing cycle after the notice period. If you do not agree with a price change, you may cancel your subscription before the new pricing takes effect.

New paid subscriptions may include a 14-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your payment method will be charged for the first billing period.

You retain ownership of all content and data you submit to BarMetrics. Specifically:

• Coaches own their training programming, including training blocks, session templates, exercise prescriptions, and coaching notes.
• Athletes own their training logs, including set logs, session check-ins, readiness scores, and performance data.

By using the Service, you grant BarMetrics a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your content as necessary to provide and improve the Service. This license ends when you delete your content or close your account.

BarMetrics may use anonymized, aggregated data (from which individual users cannot be identified) to improve the Service, develop new features, and conduct research. This aggregated data does not include any personally identifiable information.

BarMetrics strives to maintain high availability, but the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Scheduled maintenance windows may occasionally require temporary downtime, and we will make reasonable efforts to notify users in advance.

The BarMetrics mobile app supports offline training: sets and session data logged while offline are stored on your device, queued, and synchronized to our servers when connectivity is restored. We are not responsible for data inconsistencies that may result from extended offline usage, and data that has not yet synchronized may not be visible to your coach.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, BarMetrics and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

BarMetrics's total cumulative liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to BarMetrics in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

BarMetrics is not liable for any injuries, health issues, or adverse outcomes resulting from training programs created, shared, or executed through the platform. Users assume all risk associated with physical training activities.

BarMetrics is not a party to, and is not liable under, any agreement between a coach and an athlete, including any release of liability signed through the Service.

You may request deletion of your account at any time from the BarMetrics mobile app (Profile → Delete Account) or by emailing support@barmetrics.app from the email address associated with your account. Upon account closure, your active subscription (if any) will be canceled, and you will retain access through the end of your current billing period.

A parent or legal guardian of a user under 18 may request access to, or deletion of, that user's account and data by emailing support@barmetrics.app .

BarMetrics may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if required by law. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before any termination, except in cases of severe policy violations.

Upon account deletion, your personal data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as billing records). Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained indefinitely.

Signed agreements between you and a coach, including the signature and the identifying details on them (and those of a parent or guardian who signed for you), are retained for seven (7) years after signing as legal records, even after your account is deleted. Everything else is removed on the schedule above.

If a coach's account is terminated, their athletes will be notified and will retain access to their own training logs and performance data.

The BarMetrics name, logo, and all related trademarks, service marks, and trade dress are the property of EARS, LLC. The Service, including its design, code, features, and documentation, is owned by EARS, LLC and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

BarMetrics may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you via email or through an in-app notification at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.

When a coach asks you to sign an agreement through BarMetrics, you agree to use electronic records and electronic signatures for it. When you type your name and check the box, that is your signature: under the federal ESIGN Act and applicable state versions of UETA it has the same legal effect as a signature written by hand. You may ask the coach for a paper copy of an agreement before or after you sign it.

BarMetrics provides the signing tool only. We are not a party to any agreement between a coach and an athlete, or between a coach and a parent or legal guardian who signs for an athlete. We do not write or review those agreements, and we make no representation about whether any of them is valid or enforceable.

Both parties to a signed agreement — and a parent or legal guardian who signed on an athlete's behalf — can retrieve a copy of it at any time, in the BarMetrics app or on the web.

A coach who requires such an agreement is responsible for its content and for whether it is appropriate and lawful for the athletes they coach.
